“My husband hit me while I was pregnant as his parents laughed… but they didn’t

Part 2:

When I regained consciousness, the room was filled with the acrid smell of burnt bacon. I could hear Víctor’s parents laughing, their mocking voices dripping with disdain. My thigh throbbed, and each breath felt like a struggle against the weight of despair. I prayed that Alex had seen the message, that he was on his way.

Minutes felt like hours as I lay there, helpless, trying to shield my unborn child from the chaos around us. It was then that I heard it—a sound that cut through the haze of agony—a car screeching to a halt outside the house.

The front door crashed open, and there he was—my brother, Alex, towering in the doorway like a guardian angel. His eyes blazed with a fury I had never seen before.

“Get away from her!” Alex’s voice was a thunderous roar that shook the room.

Víctor dropped the stick, momentarily stunned by Alex’s sudden appearance. But his arrogance quickly returned.

“Get out, Alex,” Víctor sneered, trying to regain control. “This is my house, and she’s my wife. You have no right—”

“I have every right!” Alex interrupted, stepping forward with a predatory grace that made Víctor step back. “You think you can treat her like this? Not today, not ever again.”

Helena and Raúl shrank back, fear finally replacing their smug expressions. Nora, who had been recording everything, lowered her phone, eyes wide as she realized the gravity of the situation.

Alex knelt beside me, his face softening with concern. “Are you okay, Sarah?” he asked gently, helping me sit up.

I nodded, tears streaming down my cheeks. “The baby… I’m scared for the baby.”

“We’re getting you out of here,” Alex said, his voice a promise. “I already called the police and an ambulance. You’re safe now.”

Víctor tried to protest, to regain the upper hand, but Alex’s presence was an unyielding wall of protection. Within minutes, the police arrived, lights flashing, sirens wailing—a beautiful symphony of justice.

As the officers led Víctor away, he spat curses and threats, but his parents were silent, their faces pale with the realization of the consequences they now faced.

Nora, still clutching her phone, looked horrified as an officer approached her. “That recording will be evidence,” the officer said, confiscating her device.

Alex helped me to my feet, supporting me as we slowly made our way outside. The fresh air was a balm to my aching body and spirit. I knew this was the beginning of a long road to healing, but I also knew I wasn’t alone.

“I’m so sorry, Sarah,” Alex said, his voice choked with emotion. “I should have seen this sooner.”

“It’s not your fault,” I replied, squeezing his hand. “You saved us.”

As the paramedics checked me over, I realized that one small act—a message sent in desperation—had set in motion a chain of events that would free me from the nightmare I had been living.

And with my brother by my side, I knew I had the strength to face whatever came next. Together, we would fight for justice, and my child would never know the darkness that had once consumed our lives. READ MORE BELOW
