Every night, the millionaire’s son woke up screaming. Doctors were clueless — until the nanny

The sight broke her heart. Leo lay curled into a ball on the bed, his small body trembling with sobs that he tried to stifle. The room was dimly lit by the small nightlight in the corner, casting long shadows that danced across the walls. Clara approached quietly, not wanting to startle him, and gently touched his shoulder.

“Leo, it’s me, Mrs. Clara,” she whispered softly. The boy flinched slightly, then turned to face her, relief washing over his tear-streaked face.

“Mrs. Clara,” he breathed, clutching onto her arm.

“Shh, it’s okay, I’m here to help,” she reassured, her voice steady despite the emotions swirling inside her. She lifted his head gently, feeling the tension in his neck. Her fingers brushed against the pillow, and instinctively, she stopped.

“Leo, may I look at your pillow?” she asked. He nodded, confusion mingling with hope in his eyes. Clara carefully lifted the pillow and turned on her flashlight, examining it with care.

Her heart pounded faster as she found it—a subtle seam, a small opening barely noticeable. She reached inside and felt something unusual, something that did not belong in a child’s pillow. As her fingers closed around a small object, she pulled it out into the light.

There, in her palm, lay a small electronic device—wires, a tiny battery, and a mechanism unfamiliar to her but chilling in its implications. Clara gasped, her mind racing. It was clear now why Leo had cried out in pain. Every time his head rested on the pillow, the device activated, sending small electric shocks through the fabric.

“Who would do this?” she wondered aloud, horror mingling with anger. But as the question formed, her thoughts drifted back to Victoria. Victoria, who always found explanations for Leo’s marks and redness. Victoria, whose smiles never reached her eyes when they rested on the boy.

The pieces clicked into place, and Clara felt a surge of protectiveness towards Leo. She knew she had to act quickly, to ensure his safety before confronting the cold reality of betrayal within the household.

“Leo, listen to me,” she said urgently. “I need to take this with me and show it to your father. It’s very important. But I promise I won’t let anything hurt you again, okay?”

Leo nodded, his trust in her unwavering despite the fear still lurking in his eyes. Clara wrapped him in a comforting hug before taking the pillow and its sinister contents.

As she exited the room, determination fueled her steps. She didn’t know how James would react, but she hoped he would see the truth and protect his son. Clara was ready to fight for Leo, to expose the shocking truth hidden within their home.
