In today’s world, we often trust reviews, polished photos, and well-known platforms to guide our decisions. But that trust can be fragile. My wife and I recently discovered just how quickly a seemingly safe space can turn unsettling. During our stay at what we thought was a standard Airbnb, my wife noticed a faint blinking light on the smoke detector. A hidden camera. Immediately, my heart raced. Without discussion, we packed our belongings and left, driving down the road with adrenaline surging. You’ve tampered with it.”

What we thought was a rental had clearly been set up with surveillance equipment. We didn’t return.
